Everything You Need To Know About Changes to Divorce Law
As the No Fault Divorce Law comes into effect today (Wednesday 6th April 2022), our Family Law Paralegal Charlotte Tweed shares her summary on how the changes will affect getting a divorce in the future.
“The Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Act 2020 (DDSA) will reform the law on divorce, dissolution and separation, relating to both marriage and civil partnerships. This will mean that couples considering divorce in the UK will no longer need to prove that either party is at fault or caused the irretrievable breakdown of the marriage or civil partnership. For most couples this will be a positive step in moving away from conflict and the impact that separating may have on any children within the family.”
