Economic forum will examine the future of North Lincolnshire
Business leaders from across the region are been given a chance to quiz the local authority leaders in North Lincolnshire about economic growth across the coming years, at an event supported by Pepperells.

Adam Lovell: “The opportunity for economic growth is very real”
As part of the North Lincolnshire Ambassador Programme, Cllr Rob Waltham MBE, the leader of North Lincolnshire Council, Simon Green, the executive director (commercial), at the council and Beckie Hart, the regional director Yorkshire and the Humber at the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) will be part of a panel discussion on March 29.
Registration for the event, being held at the Engineering UTC on Carlton Street in Scunthorpe, opens at 7.45am. The event will finish at 9.30am and will be hosted by Pepperells’ development director Adam Lovell.
The panellists will discuss the challenges ahead including the need to drive up productivity, multiply inward investment and create new, highly-paid, sustainable jobs. It comes as the local authority will be publishing its economic growth strategy.
At this breakfast forum – part of the North Lincolnshire Ambassador Programme – delegates can find out:
- What is the economic growth plan? And how can local businesses help shape it?
- What are our strengths and how can local business help sell them regionally, nationally and internationally?
- How will the challenges be overcome?
- What prospects are there for North Lincolnshire?
Adam Lovell, development director, said: “This is a very interesting time in for the businesses in the region, driving economic growth is quite clearly a priority for the local authority but businesses need to engage in that process to help shape the plans and proposals.
“The opportunity is very real for proper sustainable growth. As a firm we are very pleased to support this event and the wider Ambassador Programme and personally I am very much looking forward to finding out what the plans are and most importantly how businesses can help shape them moving forward.”
