Often, one of the most frightening thoughts when trying to end an abusive relationship is the potential repercussions of that decision. Abusive behaviour can continue and often worsen also continue long after a relationship has ended and sometimes people may struggle to know where to turn or how to put a stop to it.
For further information on legal help with protection from domestic abuse, get in touch with our team of expert injunction solicitors. Of course, if you have any questions about domestic abuse or been threatened with violence, we will be very happy to answer them.
Protective injunctions are just one of the ways in which we can help safeguard you and provide reassurance through difficult times.
Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders are available from the Family Courts and are intended to protect the holder from the abusive behaviour of a partner, ex-partner or other family member. Similar to a Restraining Order, a Non-Molestation Order would ensure that your abuser cannot contact you or continue their behaviour, including through third parties or social media such as Facebook. In some circumstance’s orders can also regulate who lives in the family home. Such orders are civil injunctions and can be made irrespective of criminal charges (or lack thereof).
It is important to understand that these types of protective injunctions are not only available to victims of physical abuse. The Courts understand that domestic abuse is not always physical. It can encompass a range of behaviours which include, but are not limited to: financial abuse, coercive control and verbally aggressive and threatening comments/ messages. All of these types of behaviours may make you feel you may feel threatened or harassed – and can have having a devastating effect on the lives of you and your children. We can act in cases of coercive control, financial abuse and emotional abuse to make sure the behaviour stops and you can live your life without fear.
At Pepperells we know that every case is different and we offer a personal face-to-face service with advice tailored to your specific circumstances. We work closely with agencies in the local area including Hull DAP, DVAP, Women’s Aid, Purple House, Edan Lincs and Blue Door. ...In our brief time working with Pepperell's we have been very pleased with their quality of service and professionalism...
After calling 15 carefully picked solicitors, Pepperell’s were the only firm that returned our call and took our business seriously. They carefully gathered information and explained their quotation in a transparent and reasonable fashion. We look forward to working with Pepperells in the future.
