Where There’s a “Will” There’s a Way
The Private Client Team here at Pepperells cannot stress enough the importance of having a valid and legal Will in place. Whether you are married, co-habiting, have children, parents and/ or siblings it is crucial that your wishes are reflected in a Will.
We hear many people ask “why do I need to make a Will, I don’t have anything valuable to leave”. It is important to make people aware that you do not necessarily need anything valuable to leave in a Will. For example, do you have children who are under the age of 18? We are sure you will agree that your children are and always will be your main priority, which is one of the reasons making a Will is so important. A Will allows you to appoint a Guardian to look after your children whilst they are still under the age of 18.
Have you also thought about your wishes should you and your children die together? Who would you want to receive your estate if this was to happen?
We understand that some people avoid making a Will because of the costs associated with preparing legal documents. Some people attempt to make home made Wills to save on costs, which are often invalid for a variety of reasons. If you are concerned about the costs of making a Will, it may be that you can take advantage of this fantastic service and make a Will via The National Free Wills Network to which Pepperells Solicitors are proud to be a part of.
The National Free Wills Network are involved with 90+ charity members the list of which can be found at www.nationalfreewills.net/charities/. It may be that you are already a supporter of one or more of these charities upon which you could be eligible to take part in the free Wills scheme.
All you need to do is make contact with your chosen charity and ask them about the National Free Network Wills scheme. Your charity will then provide you with an information pack to which you can then bring along to one of our four offices in Hull, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Lincoln.
Pepperells will then discuss advise, prepare and store your Will at a discounted rate funded by your chosen Charity.
When you have made enquiries with your chosen charity please feel free to contact with Pepperells on the details provided below to start the process of ensuring your last wishes are legally reflected.
