Court Confirms CILEx, Paralegals & Trainees Can Conduct Litigation Under Solicitor Supervision

Today’s Mazur judgment is great news for legal professionals across the sector, and across our network of offices, a moment of great relief for our staff.

The Court of Appeal has overturned the original Mazur ruling, confirming that legal executives, paralegals and trainees can lawfully conduct litigation under solicitor supervision.

For our colleagues at Pepperells, this is more than a legal development.

Victoria Neale, who joined the legal industry as an office junior at 16 and has worked her way through every level of the firm, put it best: the appeal represents “a return to common sense” and the ability to carry out work they have always been qualified to do.
