We wish to make you aware of a situation that has arisen which may affect clients of the firm where they cases are, or have been, funded by the Legal Aid Agency.

The Legal Aid Agency was recently the victim of a cyber security incident. It has been reported that the group behind the attack has been able to access a large amount of information relating to legal aid applicants. The specifics of that data accessed is not currently available but potentially impacts a large number of individuals.

The Legal Aid Agency are urging all members of the public who have applied for legal aid since 2010 to safeguard themselves. They have recommended individuals to be alert for any suspicious activity, such as unknown messages or phone calls and to be extra vigilant to update any potential exposed passwords.
