Ben Pepperell

Ben is the Chief Executive Officer of Pepperells Solicitors, with overall responsibility for the firm’s strategic direction, financial performance and organisational leadership. Qualified as a solicitor in 2005, Ben combines more than two decades post‑qualification experience with a strong academic foundation, holding an LLB, LPC, LLM in Advanced Legal Practice and a PhD in Management. His background as a high net worth solicitor for both individuals and corporates underpins a commercially astute and client‑focused approach to leadership.

As CEO, Ben leads the development and delivery of the firm’s long‑term vision, overseeing growth, diversification and market positioning across a multi‑office national footprint. He is responsible for setting and implementing strategy in collaboration with the board and senior leadership team’s, ensuring that Pepperells remains competitive in a changing legal and technological landscape while staying true to its core values. His remit spans financial oversight, including profitability, revenue growth and investment decisions, as well as ensuring the financial stability and sustainability of the firm.

Ben has played a central role in transforming Pepperells from a single small office practising in a traditional manner into a modern, multi‑site law firm serving clients across the UK both in‑person and remotely. Over more than two decades, he has led the firm’s incorporation, acquisition activity and structural evolution, implementing best practice across legal and business functions to drive operational excellence. This experience is supported by extensive exposure to governance frameworks and quality standards, including many years’ involvement with Lexcel, ISO, CQS, Legal Aid Agency and financial audits, together with a decade as COLP and 15 years as COFA.

With deep insight into both front‑line legal work and business operations, Ben oversees all legal business units and operational teams, including Technology, Human Resources, Finance, Compliance, Business Development, Sales, Marketing and the firm’s specialist practice areas. His leadership style is dynamic and visionary, with a track record of building and sustaining high‑performing teams and fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning and engagement. He is a trained collaborator and mediator, and his experience in high-net-worth divorce, finances, corporate and commercial work and private client matters informs a pragmatic and solutions‑driven perspective in decision‑making.

Beyond internal leadership, Ben plays a key role in client and market development, acting as a senior ambassador for the firm and building long‑term relationships with key clients and stakeholders. He is highly active in the community, having overseen six‑figure charitable giving during his tenure and founded initiatives such as The Christmas Dinner Project and The Olive Fund. Under his leadership, Pepperells continues to evolve its service model, embrace innovation and legal technology, and align its regulatory, operational and commercial objectives with a strong commitment to ethical standards, social impact and long‑term growth.
