Maria Igoe is a Trainee Legal Executive specialising in family law, with a focus on Domestic Abuse, Children Act matters, Divorce and Financial Remedy. Qualified as a Trainee Legal Executive in 2026, she works with some of the firm’s most vulnerable clients, often supporting individuals fleeing domestic abuse or seeking to remain in the family home to the exclusion of a spouse.
Maria manages a large and often highly sensitive caseload, conducts advocacy and legal research, and assists less experienced members of the team, helping to progress cases efficiently while maintaining a high standard of client care. She has recently been invited by the Board of Directors to join the Senior Leadership Team, reflecting both her contribution and the trust placed in her judgment.
She has completed, alongside colleagues, the Inspire Programme, which has enhanced her self‑awareness, confidence and professionalism and reinforced her feeling of being valued by the firm. Maria has worked at Pepperells for 10 years, starting on reception and progressing to Legal Assistant for a Director in the Family Department before embarking on her CILEX journey towards qualification as a Legal Executive specialising in family law. She holds a 2:1 degree in Law and Criminology from the University of Leeds.
